  1. So with premiere open, if you haven't done so.
  2. Create a new project and then a new sequence
  3. Import the footage you want to use, in your project.
  4. Right click on the footage then press unlink. The Video and audio layer should now be seperated so you can use them individually. You can also use the keyboard shortcut Crtl-L. If you want to link them back, align them, select both by holding shift, then link. Or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl-L.
